This cycling tour from Nice to Florence links the French Riviera, the Italian coast and the Apennines across roughly 625 kilometres. Six stages lead from the heights above Èze to Liguria’s sandy bays, through Genoa’s harbour districts and into the terraced vineyards of the Cinque Terre. In Vernazza, colourful houses gather around a small harbour; the following day, the road climbs from the sea towards the Passo del Cerreto. Beyond the mountains lie Maranello and Bologna’s arcades, before the Raticosa and Futa passes open the route into Tuscany. Florence’s Arno marks the finish.
